Adult male turkey. |
| Jackeroo |
Trainee farm worker (male).
Jackeroos serve for 4 years (with annual increments) under the Pastoral
Award before becoming a Station-hand. See also jilleroo. |
| Jenn |
Device for
unrolling rolls of wire along a fence line. May be called a spinning
jenny or a wire spinner. |
| Jetter |
Part of the
milking equipment that holds the teat cups and connects the air line to
the milk line for flushing (washing). |
| Jetting |
Application of pesticide to treat
external parasites in an animal by spraying the chemical under pressure
to the body. See also dipping. |
| Jilleroo |
Female equivalent of a jackeroo. |
| Joining, Joined |
Placing male animals with female
animals with the intention of their mating. |
| Joint |
a. A place or part at which two or
more things are joined.
b. Anatomy a. A point of articulation between two
or more bones, especially such a connection that allows motion, or a
point in the exoskeleton of an invertebrate at which movable parts
join, as along the leg of an arthropod.
c. Botany An articulation on a fruit or stem, such
as the node of a grass stem.
d. Geology A fracture or crack in a rock mass along
which no appreciable movement has occurred.
e. A large cut of meat for roasting. |
