The Role
MacPhee’s for the wine enthusiast is looking for a “wine gun” to assist with the following:

• Retail assistance in a specialist wine accessories store encompassing customer service, receipt of stock, general merchandising and stock takes.

• Wine sales assistance to a premium client base.

• General warehouse duties in the offsite wine storage business may be added depending on the applicant.

Ideally, you are passionate about wine and have either studied or are currently studying wine. You are seeking an opportunity to work in a specialist wine related business whilst developing your broader skills.

2008 Barossa Young Viiculturist Fellowship

Applications open from 23rd July - 22nd August

Open to people between the ages of 18 & 35, this Fellowship provides funding for for a young individual to pursue an idea, project or area of interest in Viticulture. Established by the Barossa ViticultureTechnichal Group (BVTG), this fellowship provides a young individual with a greatopportunity to further their knowledge and career, whist also developing the capacity and involvement of young people in the Viticulture Industry and Barossa region. Applications are open to grape growers, viticulturists or individuals closely involved in Barossa viticulture.

TRAINEE WINE MARKETING & SALES POSITION

Anvers requires an enthusiastic and career motivated person who is currently studying towards a qualification in wine marketing to join us on a casual basis to assist with the marketing and promotion of Anvers wines.

The person will be able to demonstrate an understanding of wine and the wine business. Anvers will mentor you and develop your skills in wine marketing and sales with the possibility of full-time employment at the end of your studies. A great kick start to any career in the wine business. The position requires the candidate to work up to 20 hours a week and have a drivers license. Hours are flexible to your study commitments but the position will require you to work some weekends and evenings with customer events. Salary will be negotiated subject to your experience.

2009 Jackaroo and Jillaroo Positions

Clyde Agriculture Limited is a privately owned company with substantial, expanding land holdings in Queensland (Quilpie and Cunnamulla districts) and NSW (Bourke, Warren, Walgett, Coonamble and Walcha districts).
Clyde Agriculture’s primary production on the stations is focused on beef, wool, fat lambs and winter cropping operations. The company also owns irrigation farms in the Bourke/Brewarrina areas.

Clyde is looking for Jackaroos and Jillaroos for the company’s stations to commence work in January 2009. Applicants are expected to be practical, energetic young people with a commitment to the rural industry.

Certificate II, III, IV, and Diploma in Agriculture are offered as part of the employment package, giving employees tertiary recognition for the skills developed throughout the year.

Opportunities exist to transfer between holdings and progress to more senior levels provided they display the necessary characteristics.

PhD Student Needed

A/Prof Gordon Howarth and A/Prof Ross Butler are seeking expressions of interest from eligible candidates wishing to undertake doctoral (PhD) studies broadly in the area of probiotics and gastrointestinal disease. The proposed project will be a collaborative venture between the CYWHS Gastroenterology Department and the University of Adelaide (School of Agriculture, Food and Wine).
