Applying for Honours in 2007
Applying for Honours
Finding a project/supervisor
- Look at the range of projects / areas of research.
- Contact potential supervisors to arrange a meeting to discuss projects.
- Take a copy of your transcript with you so that potential supervisors can see whether you
have done an appropriate range of courses.
- If you are having trouble choosing a project arrange a meeting with the Honours
co-ordinator who can make some suggestions based on your interests.
- Before making a final decision it can be useful to talk to previous students/lab members.
Once you have found a supervisor:
- Complete the 12-unit (pdf 31kB) or 24-unit (pdf 28kB) "Honours Application Form", including signature of Honours co-ordinator.
- Prepare a summary of the project (less than one page).
- Attach a copy of your academic record (unofficial version is OK for Uni
of Adelaide students)
- If you are also applying for a School Scholarship, attach a copy of your CV (maximum of 4 pages) and a statement outlining your research career aspirations.
- Pass all completed forms and summary to the Academic Programs Officer by 7th November to be considered for the first round of offers. More information on due dates for subsequent rounds is available in Application Information.
On receipt of these details the Honours Coordinator will:
- Evaluate the application including applications for Scholarships.
Following acceptance into the Honours program,
- Students will be notified by the Faculty of Sciences (domestic students) or the International Office (international students).
- More information on dates for notification and return of acceptance forms is available in Application Information.
