Research Scholarships
The following are major scholarships available for future postgraduate
students planning to undertake a PhD or Masters by research:

| ARC-Linkage PhD Scholarships (2) and GWRDC Wine Biotechnology Scholarships (2).
|
Applications are invited for up to four full-time industry postgraduate scholarships for support during study leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Applicants should have a particular interest in industrial wine research. Supervision will be within the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine in the Wine Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology Laboratory on the Waite Campus of the University of Adelaide. The research group has excellent facilities including a multi-function fermentation facility, bench-top bioreactors, HPLC and GC capabilities, QRTPCR, an extensive collection of modified yeast libraries as well as ongoing collaborations with international groups specialising in metabolomics, and genome analysis.
While primarily based at Waite campus of The University of Adelaide the candidates will also have contact with collaborators within the wine industry, on the Waite campus or at The University of South Australia (Mawson Lakes campus). Each scholarship is valued at $25,000 pa. |

| Molecular Plant Breeding CRC Scholarships |
Research within Molecular Plant Breeding CRC is focused on developing molecular
technologies for use in wheat, barley and pasture grass breeding programs.
Scholarships are now available at the University of Adelaide, Waite Campus
in a number of research areas such as - Functional analyses of genes, Map-based
cloning, Allele discovery.
In addition to a scholarship (tax-free) and operating funds, MPB offers postgraduate
students opportunities for professional development, domestic and international
travel as well as access to a large network of scientists. |

Supplementary Scholarships
Supplementary scholarships may be awarded in conjunction with an Australia
Postgraduate Award (APA) or University of Adelaide Scholarships (UAS).
They are granted to the highest ranked students during the application
process for the major scholarships (APA and UAS) and are given strictly
on academic merit.

Other Funding Opportunities
In addition to the major scholarships offered, there are several other

Coursework Scholarships
These scholarships are for applicants who wish to undertake full time
study in a Masters degree by coursework or a Graduate Diploma. The funding
opportunities in this area are limited and therefore extremely competitive.
